There’s been a lot of anticipation about the opening of UMAMI in Leicester, and we can now reveal that the global buffet restaurant will be opening at Highcross on Wednesday 29 July.
UMAMI is a contemporary restaurant built around a Local World Kitchen philosophy, which will introduce Leicester to a dining experience where global flavours, local community and shared moments come together under one roof.
Rather than simply serving food from around the world, UMAMI celebrates the idea that great meals connect people. Inspired by the belief that the world feels smaller around a table, the restaurant offers a place where familiar favourites sit alongside exciting new discoveries, creating a dining experience that’s both welcoming and unexpected.
Guests can explore more than 250 freshly prepared dishes inspired by cuisines from across the globe, with chefs cooking live at Teppanyaki grills and pizza oven stations using fresh ingredients throughout the day. Every visit is designed to encourage curiosity, conversation and the simple joy of discovering something new together.
Located next to Highcross Shopping Centre, the new restaurant has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the energy of its menu. Contemporary interiors, theatre-style live cooking and a vibrant atmosphere combine to create a destination where families, friends and colleagues can gather, celebrate and make lasting memories.
