You probably associate Apres Lounge with weekend nights out, DJs and their Friday free unlimited Prosecco deal, but foodie fans can rejoice as they’ve announced they’re now serving a full alpine inspired menu and it looks delicious.

Aptly named The Alpine Kitchen, they’ll be serving food daily from 11am to 8pm to see you through from a late breakfast to pre night out treats.

The real stars of the show though are the Alpine Classics and here’s a quick look at what you can expect from the menu:

Grostil
Sauteed potatoes, shallots, pancetta and mushrooms, topped with a runny egg and served with a warm baguette

Tartiflette
Layered potatoes and shallots baked in a creamy seasoned Reblochon cheese sauce with optional pancetta, served with a warm baguette

Swedish Rosti
Minted pea and potato fritters served on a bed of rocket complimented with a rich tomato and garlic sauce

Other menu highlights include the Apres Burger. What’s “alpine” about a burger? Well this one is homemade and served with pancetta and raclette cheese. We’ve been waiting for somewhere in Leicester to serve raclette so we’ll definitely be going down to try this. It doesn’t stop there, the alpine theme rightly continues with their Fondue selection. You can enjoy their Emmental and Gruyere fondue with a range of dippers including crusty bread, potatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, chicken and more. The perfect sharing dish!

For those wanting something a little less adventurous there will be a range of tasty sandwiches and salads on offer as well as build your own pizzas (which you can have raclette cheese on as well!)

The final jewel in the crown comes with their sweet and savoury crepe options. Enjoy a build your own savoury crepe with asparagus, blue cheese, caramelised onion, spinach broccoli and more, or round off the meal with a sweet crepe with Nutella, maple syrup, mango, honey or ice cream.

The Alpine Kitchen is open now and based at The Apres Lounge on High Street. We’ll be heading down to try it soon, let us know what you think of the food over on Twitter. The full menu can be seen below.
